Modern men are carrying two traditions that the Men's Movement addresses through both support groups and annual gatherings. Modern men — men of the last 100-plus years — have endured a long economic prosperity of growth through financial and material means. However, this prosperity of material has come at a tremendous cost to our sense of belonging to something larger, richer, and deeper: our rich history of gathering to solve problems, tapping into our emotions, honoring our rituals and ancestry, and understanding our connection to nature.
“In The Safety Of Men — Stories Of Becoming Real” is a short documentary that gives insight into the modern movement taking place, and the fire that's driving our return to our connected ancestry. In this video, men honor their spouses, children, families, and one another for their struggles, and visit the deep emotional barriers constructed to prevent men from feeling in the twentieth century.
